The first round of the 2021 NFL Draft is a mere few days away. Although the Tennessee Titans won’t pick until 22nd overall (barring any trades), the betting action has been ongoing at Tennessee sportsbooks for some time already.
There are many ways to bet on what the Titans will do at No. 22, including wagering on the position of the player the team picks and a few other props.
Plus, sportsbooks have released some brand new draft betting promotions.
Titans 2021 NFL Draft markets for all tastes
From the simple to the complex, there’s a way to bet on Friday night’s first-round action with an emphasis on the Titans’ pick.
Most of the sports betting apps operating in Tennessee have a market available on whether the Titans will go offense or defense with their first selection, for example.
BetMGM Sportsbook likes Tennessee to go defense, favoriting that line at -160.
If your feelings go the other way, DraftKings Sportsbook will give you +125 odds on Tennessee selecting an offensive player first.
For more adventurous bettors, you can stake a certain position to the Titans’ first pick.
William Hill Sportsbook slots cornerback as the favorite at +225 right now. Wide receiver follows at +280, with offensive lineman coming in third at +400.
BetMGM offers some specials that involve Tennessee’s first pick as well. As of early Monday afternoon, those included:
- Broncos, Lions, and Titans all to draft offensive players with their first picks +350
- Eagles and Titans to both draft cornerbacks with their first picks +700
As far which exact player Tennessee might take at No. 22, there’s no consensus among the experts yet. The lack of a clear favorite often means opportunities for bettors.
With the 22nd pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft…
At No. 22, the examples of disparate predictions are as numerous as the Titans’ options. For example, the four latest mock drafts at CBS Sports all have Tennessee going in a different direction. Three of the four have the Titans filling a different position, too.
Among the shortlisted names on mocks across the web are:
- Linebacker Zaven Collins
- Cornerback Caleb Farley
- Offensive lineman Teven Jenkins
- Edge rusher Kwity Paye
- Edge rusher Jaelen Phillips
- Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle
Given the fact that many experts expect these players to be available late in the first round, there is one clear bit of information bettors can infer: cross these players off your lists of prospects first to go at their position groups.
Waddle is +850 to be the first wide receiver off the board at FanDuel Sportsbook, for context. Other names on this list are further down in their position groups’ markets, though. Farley is +2400 to be the first corner off the board while Jenkins is +9500 to be the first offensive lineman taken.
However, the defensive line position is where mock drafters and sportsbooks appear to diverge. Either mockers are too low on this year’s crop of defensive linemen or oddsmakers aren’t reading the position correctly. DraftKings has Phillips as the first DL off the board at +100 and Paye as the next most likely to earn that distinction at +125.
Bettors who think mock draft compilers are right about Paye or Phillips still being available at No. 22 might want to jump on those odds.
Of course, you’re welcome to diversify your bets in ways that they aren’t so focused on the Titans’ picks. If betting on the Titans’ choices isn’t for you, there are some other ways to get money down on the draft.
