Oliveira vs. Chandler quick stats
A total of 60 fighters take to the octagon at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas for UFC 262, culminating in five main card events. The night’s main event features a bout for the UFC lightweight title, which has been vacant since previous champ Khabib Nurmagomedov retired.
Saturday night’s match marks Oliveira’s first shot at the title since joining the UFC over a decade ago. The veteran boasts a bevy of other records and awards, however. The Brazilian fighter owns the UFC record for most submissions at 14.
In addition, he holds 10 “Performance of the Night” awards and ties Donald Cerrone at 16 for the most finishes in UFC history. Oliveira hit a hot streak in 2018, claiming eight back-to-back wins in the octagon – including five submissions and two knockouts.
Chandler is fresh meat in the octagon, having only joined the UFC eight months ago. The 35-year-old, three-time Bellator champion enters the fight as an underdog. During his UFC debut this January, Chandler made quick work of Dan Hooker in the first round.
As a result of that victory, Chandler now has a chance at the UFC title. With only one UFC fight under his belt, some believe this match comes too early in the newcomer’s career. In such a talented division, though, this could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Chandler looks to come out fists flaring and continue his short UFC history with a second victory.
Oliveira vs. Chandler UFC 262 odds
Along with traditional moneyline wagers, bettors can also wager on the over/under of the fight’s total rounds, whether or not the fight will go the distance, and whether a fighter will win by decision. Odds for the latter two wagers are steep though, given each fighter’s history.
Out of the two contestant’s 66 combined fights, only 11 of them have gone to decision. Chandler has never lost by submission in his MMA career. In total, Oliveira has found himself at a loss by knockout four times.
