Seeking Tennessee Lottery winnings was a great decision last month for a few fortunate individuals. Players won five prizes of at least $40,000 during the month.
Although the jackpots varied in size greatly, they all represented a great return on the investment made by the winners.
Tennessee Lottery winnings peak early in the month
The month of June started with a bang, as the Little Barn Market in Nashville sold the most lucrative ticket of the month. A Tennessee Cash ticket sold there matched all five numbers plus the Cash Ball.
The value of the ticket was $682,501. While that was the biggest jackpot of the month, its successors definitely padded bank accounts as well.
The first week of June continued to be a good one for lottery players. A Publix store in Franklin sold a Powerball ticket worth $150,000 and a Johnson City Kroger store sold a Lotto America ticket valued at $40,000 on June 5.
More Tennessee lottery players got lucky closer to the end of the month. Two $50,000 Powerball tickets were sold on June 26.
The C Store in Collierville sold one of those tickets while One Stop Tobacco in Counce sold the other. The number of winning tickets in July and beyond could grow with new expansions of games offered by the Tennessee Lottery.
Tennessee Cash and Cash 4 Life get revamp
Earlier this month the Tennessee Lottery announced new features for two of its most popular games. Tennessee Cash got an instant component while drawings for Cash 4 Life became a daily affair.
For an extra $1, Tennessee Cash players can now get a separate Quick Cash ticket in addition to their Tennessee Cash ticket. The new option allows Tennessee Cash players to see if any of the numbers on their tickets match a winning number immediately after purchasing the ticket.
If any of the Quick Cash numbers do match the winning numbers on their Tennessee Cash ticket, the corresponding prize can be claimed instantly. Prizes range from $2 to $500 depending on the number and type of winning numbers matched.
To claim the top prize, the specific Cash Ball numbers must be identical. Tennessee Lottery players can also see if they are winners in Cash 4 Life on a daily basis.
Cash 4 Life drawings for the Tennessee Lottery are now a nightly affair. The lottery formerly only drew for that game twice a week.
Although no one should be counting on lottery winnings as a reliable source of income, these new twists offer more opportunities to play games for Tennessee residents and visitors.
Tennessee sports betting looms
That might pacify Tennessee residents and visitors waiting for legalized Tennessee sports betting to be implemented. Although sports betting in Tennessee is unlikely to be live in time for the next NFL season, it could be up and running in time for the next round of NFL playoffs.
Odds for those placing wagers on sporting events may be better than playing the lottery. Last month’s Tennessee Lottery winnings prove it is possible to win big playing its games, however, and that’s what makes buying those tickets fun.
