Tennessee Lottery Player ‘Wakes Up A Millionaire’ With $2 Million Scratch-Off Win

Posted on March 18, 2021

Another Tennessee Lottery player is $2 million richer today.

This marks the fifth ticket of $1 million or more sold in the Volunteer State this month.

Tennessee Lottery’s newest millionaire

Last Friday, Columbia, Tennessee resident Brian Pullin first purchased a $10 100X Bonus scratch-off where he won $500. He then turned around and used those winnings to purchase a $25 Ultimate 200X ticket.

As soon as Pullin began scratching, he saw the small “2” printed on his ticket and knew he’d struck gold.

“I saw the ‘2.’ It was very small, and I knew. I said, ‘Oh my God, I’m rich. I gotta go.’”

Overall odds for this instant game are 1:2.91. Pullin had a 25.57% chance of winning a prize off the ticket.

He purchased the ticket at the Lion Market on East James Campbell Blvd. The first call he made after jumping in his Jeep was to his fiancée, Amanda. When he got home, she was eagerly awaiting his arrival.

“She met me out front, and then I had a few tears of joy because I knew our life was about to change. We woke up Saturday morning and just started laughing.”

As for what Pullin plans to do with the money, he says new vehicles for both himself and his fiancée are in order. Then, once bills are paid off and his family is taken care of, he’ll use the money toward his home renovation business.

“My favorite thing about the Lottery is the excitement of it. It can be life-changing. I woke up a millionaire this morning, which is an amazing thing.”

Tennessee Lottery players keep winning big

In March alone, five tickets worth $1 million or more have been sold in Tennessee.

Just last week, a Chattanooga truck driver won $2 million off a Mega Millionaire Jumbo Bucks ticket.

The Tennessee Lottery launched in 2004 and has sold 312 tickets worth at least $1 million since then.

In that time span, the lottery has accumulated $5.7 billion in revenue – money which goes to benefit college grants and scholarships.

How to play the Tennessee Lottery

If you’re looking to play the lottery in Tennessee, there are a variety of different ways to get in on the excitement.

Two primary contests types are available: instant win scratch-offs and drawing-style games.

When it comes to drawing-style games, Mega Millions and Powerball are the two most popular contests.

Mega Millions drawings take place twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday. The current estimated jackpot sits at $105 million.

Powerball’s estimated jackpot is even higher at $200 million. Drawings for this contest take place every Wednesday and Saturday.
