The first pitch of the 2021 MLB All-Star Game will be thrown Tuesday night at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado.
This highly-anticipated competition pits star players from the American League (AL) and National League (NL) against each other for a single night of winner-take-all action.
Tennessee sportsbooks favor the NL to come back from its lengthy losing streak with a victory.
All-Star Game odds
Due to last year’s ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this will be the first All-Star event since 2019. That year, the AL took a 4-3 lead over the NL.
When it comes to All-Star Games, the AL’s reputation has been significantly better than the NL’s in recent years. The AL’s 45-32-2 record includes back-to-back wins during the seven-most-recent competitions.
The team intends to extend that into an eight-game winning streak come Tuesday night.
However, they’ll have to play their way past the National League first.
It’s been nine years since the NL won its last All-Star Game in 2012. That year, the NL secured gold with a 8-0 win – the league’s third consecutive victory.
This year, sportsbooks seem to be giving the National League a slight edge to take home the victory.
Most position the National League at -1.5 heading into the game.
All-Star Game betting
Betting options for this game are about as vast as the stars on each team’s roster.
Along with the usual moneyline, run line, and totals wagering options found at most books, BetMGM TN and DraftKings Tennessee are knocking it out of the park with a range of other selections.
For instance, exclusive to DraftKings is the “Shohei Ohtani Special”, where odds of Ohtani hitting over 0.5 home runs are -10000.
All-Star Game props include wagers on:
- Winning margin
- Team to score the first run
- Number of runs scored by each team
- Whether a triple run will be scored
- Whether a Home Run Derby participant will hit a home run in the game
- Likelihood of home team batting bottom of the ninth
- Likelihood of extra innings being played
Bettors can also divvy the game up into sections, wagering on the run line or total for the first three, five, or seven innings.
BetMGM risk-free All-Star betting promotion
In addition to its diverse All-Star Week betting options, BetMGM is gifting bettors with a promotion for the special game. The promo comes in the form of a risk-free All-Star Game bet.
Users can wager on either team to win the All-Star game and receive a free bet of up to $25 in return if the wager happens to strike out.
That’s a good way to take some of the risk out of wagering on MLB.
