How To Master Betting On The Masters In Tennessee

Posted on April 6, 2021

Golf swings into action this Thursday, April 8 as players take to the Augusta National fairway for the Masters.

We’re teeing up some of the top Tennessee sportsbook odds and promos to set you up for this weekend.

Masters betting odds at Tennessee sportsbooks

Two-time major champion Dustin Johnson leads the pack as the overall favorite at most Tennessee sportsbooks. The golfer looks to become the first player to win back-to-back green jackets since Tiger Woods in 2001-2002. DraftKings gives Johnson +900 odds to win it all.

FanDuel, on the other hand, positions Bryson DeChambeau in the lead for outright winner at +950. The 27-year-old reigning US Open champ boasts the tour’s best scoring average (69.43) and leads with the longest driving distance (320.8).

Three-time major champion Jordan Spieth comes into the tournament with the third-best odds after claiming his first win since 2017 last week at the Valero Texas Open. Out of Spieth’s last seven tournament starts, he has finished in the top 10 in five of them.

Going into the tournament, Spieth poses the greatest liability to FanDuel with 10% of bets and 14% of all Masters money being placed on the golfer. In January, one bettor placed a $200 wager on Spieth at +5000 to win the Masters, which would result in a $10,200 total payout.

During Spieth’s Valero lead in early April, another bettor placed a $2,000 wager on him to win the Masters at +1300 – a potential payout of $28,000.

Ways to wager on the 2021 Masters

When it comes to betting on golf, there are so many other markets out there besides the tournament winner, including the following markets.

Finishing position

It is hard to pick the outright winner of a golf tournament. While that is an available betting market, you can also wager on the following finishing positions:

  • Overall winner
  • Top 5, 10, 20, 30, or 40
  • Leader After Round 1

For those looking for additional value on the top finishers, Straight Forecasts allow a bettor to wager on both the winner and the runner up of the tournament.

Tournament matchups

One of the most popular bet types in golf is player matchups. These wagers allow you to bet on who will perform better in a head-to-head matchup or in a group of golfers.

For the upcoming Masters tournament, if you like Bryson DeChambeau but aren’t sure he has what it takes to win it all, you can bet that he will out-perform another golfer in the field.

At DraftKings, you can wager on DeChambeau against Jon Rahm for best finishing position at the following odds:

GolferOdds for best finishing position
Bryson DeChambeau-103
Jon Rahm-125

In addition to one-on-one player matchups, you can also wager on the best finishing position for a group of golfers.

Keeping with DeChambeau, you can wager on him to have the lowest score over 72 holes out of a group of golfers at BetMGM Sportsbook.

GolferOdds for lowest score over 72 holes
Bryson DeChambeau +350
Jon Rahm+333
Justin Thomas+375
Dustin Johnson+300
Jordan Spieth +400

Masters prop betting

Tournament props are another major Masters market – and for good reason. These quirky wagering selections make golf a whole lot more interesting to the average spectator. Available options include:

  • Top lefty
  • Winning margin
  • Top past champion
  • Top debutant
  • Hole-in-one probability
  • Top player from each nationality
  • Albatross on Hole 2

Whether you’re a die-hard golf fanatic or the occasional weekend warrior, watching golf is far more entertaining when you have money on the line.

In addition to the variety of betting markets on the Masters, sportsbook odds and boosts make the tournament even more interesting.

DraftKings boosts and promos

When it comes to promotions for the Masters, DraftKings takes the cake. Check out all of the golf promos currently running at the sportsbook.

New users: bet $1, win $100

At DraftKings, new users can bet on any Masters golfer of their choosing and receive +10000 odds on them finishing in the top 10.

To qualify, a new user must make a deposit of $5 or more into their new sportsbook account before the boost becomes available.

Bets for this promotion are limited to $1. If your player finishes in the top 10, you’ll walk away $100 richer.

The boost is only valid until the first player tees off at the Masters on Thursday.

Bryson vs. DJ Odds Boost

Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson go head to head at Augusta, and DraftKings has boosted odds on which golfer will come out ahead.

Odds are increased from -114 to +150 with a maximum bet of $25. A max winning bet on this wager would pay out $62.50. Much like the first boost, bettors must take advantage of this promo before the start of the tournament.

$4M Fantasy Golf Millionaire

For a $10 entry fee, bettors can draft six golfers for a chance to win $1 million in this fantasy golf contest.

As part of the DraftKings Championship Series – Fantasy Tournament of Champions, the winner of this contest will be granted a ticket to compete in a special $1 million prize pool in January 2022.
