Lottery players are hitting it big in Knoxville, Tennessee. Last week alone, the city doled out over $5 million in earnings to winners.
These new winnings are added to the $15.2 billion players have collected since 2004.

Two Knoxville Powerball players win big
As if Knoxville’s big Wednesday winner wasn’t enough, two additional Knoxville players became winners over the weekend after the Tennessee Lottery held its Saturday Powerball drawing.
One player won $1 million by matching all five of the five white Powerball numbers. This marks the 321st winner of $1 million or more since the Lottery launched in January 2004.
The ticket was purchased at the Food City on Loves Creek Road.
The second big weekend winner walked away $100,000 richer after matching four out of five of the white balls as well as the red Powerball. The prize amount would have been $50,000, but because the player opted for a Power Play multiplier on the ticket, earnings automatically doubled to $100,000.
This lucky prize recipient purchased the winning ticket at the Weigel’s on Northshore Drive.
Further information is unavailable until the two Powerball winners claim their prizes at the Tennessee Lottery headquarters in Nashville.
Powerball popularity results in three weekly drawings
Powerball drawings have traditionally taken place every Wednesday and Saturday night. Due to its recent rise in popularity, however, a third weekly drawing will take place every Monday night beginning on Monday, August 23.
The Powerball jackpot currently sits at an estimated $186 million. After fees and taxes, this amounts to a cash value of roughly $134.6 million.
Players have another chance at a windfall win during the upcoming drawing on Wednesday, July 28 at 9p.m. CT.
