Sports bettors will soon have 10 legal Tennessee sportsbooks within their grasp. Fubo Gaming, owned by fuboTV, is the latest operator to secure license approval in the state.

Fubo Sportsbook has been given the green light and will soon be cleared for launch — pending one final step. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at the platform and see what it’s got in store for the Volunteer State.

Fubo Gaming approved as 10th Tennessee sportsbook operator

If you’re a sports fanatic, you’re likely already familiar with fuboTV, the subscription-based streaming service offering more than 120 channels and the ability to stream from three different devices at once.

The platform features an impressive 50,000 sporting events per year. And now, Tennesseans will soon have the opportunity to watch and play at the same time.

The brand’s new wagering arm, Fubo Gaming, debuted its sports betting app to Arizona and Iowa players. Since then, Fubo Sportsbook’s market access agreements have extended to include:

  • Louisiana
  • Mississippi
  • Missouri
  • New Jersey
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • Texas

Most recently, the Sports Wagering Advisory Council (SWAC) approved the operator’s Tennessee license application during a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 10.

Its official launch date, however, is still pending. Before going live, the operator must pass a final GLI assessment to confirm the app meets industry standards.

After that, Fubo’s off to the races.

So bettors, get those engines started and gear up for a new type of visual wagering experience.

Fubo Gaming + fuboTV = Fubo Sportsbook

To better understand what Fubo Sportsbook is, first it’s important to understand what it isn’t.

Fubo Sportsbook isn’t just another sports betting platform. Moreover, it’s not a sportsbook that’s designed to be used on its own.

Instead, it’s a gaming service that integrates a unique streaming component. By merging sports betting with sports viewing, the brand hopes to create a more immersive, entertaining experience than traditional sportsbooks.

Fubo Gaming Communications Manager Deliah Mathieu explains the goal of the platform’s unique concept:

“Fubo Sportsbook is purpose-built to meet US sports fans’ growing demand for interactivity through an industry-first integration of an owned-and-operated sports wagering platform with a live TV streaming experience. By integrating with fuboTV, the mobile app delivers personalized omniscreen experiences that turn passive viewers into active participants.”

As a subscriber, you can tune into FuboTV as usual via any mobile device, computer or television. Then, as soon as you break out your Fubo Sportsbook app, the interactive engagement begins.

Watch, wager and win in Tennessee

So how does it work exactly?

Fubo Sportsbook is designed to sync with the game you’re viewing and optimize its screen layout to display any and all relevant wagering options. For instance, if you’re watching the Memphis Grizzlies take on the Oklahoma City Thunder, you’ll have up-to-date spreads, totals, props and more at the touch of a button.

For sports fans, an interactive experience such as this one substantially increases engagement. When you’re invested in a game, you’re more inclined to follow it through to the final buzzer. Thus, Fubo benefits from higher overall viewer-retention rates.

This integrated concept isn’t just a win for the company, though. It also comes as a major victory for bettors.

If you’ve done any live betting, you know good and well how much every second counts. There’s no time for scrolling through unnecessary game lines in the middle of a high-stakes full-court press. And when you’re hoping to lock in a quick bet on the next rebound or three-pointer, timing becomes more important than ever.

As soon as a launch date for Tennessee’s newest sportsbook is announced, we’ll have the info for you right here.
