Barstool Sportsbook Makes A Stealth Launch In Tennessee

Posted on September 8, 2021

Barstool Sportsbook is live in Tennessee, making it the state’s eighth online sports betting app.

Launching just in time for the start of NFL season, Barstool Presidente Dave Portnoy made the surprise announcement on Twitter Tuesday night.

Barstool orchestrates surprise Tennessee launch

Originally planning to launch in Arizona on Sept. 9, Barstool Sportsbook doubled down by adding a second launch to the calendar in the same week.

The Sports Wagering Advisory Committee of the Tennessee Education Lottery approved Barstool as well as another brand new sportsbook, Wagr, during a meeting last week.

At the time, there was no mention of Barstool Sportsbook’s potential launch date in Tennessee.

Instead, regulators stated a handful of final issues the operator must address before being permitted to launch, such as completing an IT analysis and integrity assessment.

Apparently, Barstool wasted no time in getting those issues sorted.

It launched just eight days after that meeting.

Wagr, on the other hand, remains focused on a November debut.

Barstool Sportsbook Tennessee sign up bonus

To welcome bettors into the Stoolie fold, Barstool is offering new users a $10 sign-up bonus upon registering a new account in Tennessee.

And since the launch comes during Week 1 of the NFL regular season, Barstool would be remiss if it didn’t also offer at least a few football-related boosts.

Bettors can snag a wager on Ceedee Lamb or Mike Evans to score the first touchdown in Thursday’s Cowboys vs. Buccaneers game at +515 odds, originally set at +415.

Odds of the Buccaneers leading the game after every quarter are now boosted to +150 odds from +125.

Barstool expanding quickly in US market

Barstool Sportsbook, the sports betting brand created by Penn National Gaming in conjunction with Barstool Sports, is more than just a sportsbook. The aforementioned Barstool Sports has built an entire community and culture behind its brand, launching in 2003 as a sports and pop culture blog.

Barstool Sportsbook conveys that same ideology, making a speedy introduction to the US after debuting in Pennsylvania in September 2020.

The sportsbook is now live, or set to go live, in nine states:

  • Pennsylvania
  • Colorado
  • New Jersey
  • Virginia
  • Indiana
  • Michigan
  • Illinois
  • Arizona
  • Tennessee

Now that it is live, Tennesseans should keep checking the Barstool Sportsbook app for more offers and promotions during the football season.
