Atlanta Braves Favored To Win National League And Move On To World Series

Posted on October 14, 2021

Tennessee sportsbooks favor the Atlanta Braves to become the 2021 victors of the National League.

A National League win would open the door to an Atlanta World Series appearance for the first time since 1999.

Atlanta Braves power through National League

Ranked 1st in the NL East, the Braves shut out NL Central champions the Milwaukee Brewers in a best-of-five National League Division Series earlier this week.

They advance to the National League Championship Series (NLCS) this postseason for the second-consecutive year and are set to face either the San Francisco Giants or the Los Angeles Dodgers, depending on the outcome of Thursday night’s winner-take-all matchup.

Games will begin on Saturday, Oct. 16 and continue until Sunday, Oct. 24.

The Braves faced the Dodgers in June, winning two of their three home matchups. Atlanta then visited Los Angeles in August, losing all three games.

The Braves and Giants also faced each other six times at the end of the regular season. In August, Atlanta won two of three home games against the team, then lost two of three games in San Francisco in September.

The winner of the NLCS will then move on to the World Series, facing Friday night’s winner of the American League – either the Houston Astros or the Boston Red Sox.

Braves return to NLCS

Last year, the Braves led the NLCS before ultimately losing to the Dodgers in Game 7. Los Angeles then went on to win the World Series.

The Braves play all four NLCS games at home in Truist Park. This is the first time the Braves have played one of these games in their home field in 20 years.

Atlanta is favored to win the National League with odds of snagging the NL Pennant.

Although the Braves won the East Division title this year, the last time they won an NL Pennant was in 1999.

The National League Pennant is given to the team that wins the championship. The AL and NL Pennant winners then earn the right to play in the World Series.

Odds to win the World Series

MLB’s ever-popular All-Star Game was moved away from Atlanta’s Truist Park this year over Georgia’s new voting restrictions.

Now, the biggest event in baseball, the World Series, could end up being played right in Atlanta’s backyard. The Braves would host the third and fourth games in the final best-of-seven event if they make it that far.

If you’re betting on the World Series, the Astros are favored to win it all. The Dodgers, Red Sox, Giants, and Braves follow behind in that order.
