As the pandemic evolves, so does the COVID-19 policy instated at the Memphis FedExForum Arena and other Tennessee venues. We’ve already seen countless fluctuations at Neyland Stadium and Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville as well as the COVID restrictions at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
For those planning to visit the arena for a Memphis Grizzlies or a Memphis Tigers home game in 2022, here are the top 5 things to know before heading to FedExForum.

1. 2022 FedExForum COVID-19 policy
Masks are no longer required for children or adults while inside the arena. However, masks are still highly encouraged and all staff members will continue wearing masks during these events.
Additionally, fans are no longer required to provide a negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination to enter. There is, of course, one exception to this recently repealed requirement.
Fans sitting within 15 feet of the court must pass a health screening
According to the NBA Health and Safety requirements, fans with seats within 15 feet of the court must undergo a health screening.
Young attendees 2 years or older must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of the event. Those 12 or older have the option of providing evidence of at least one vaccination dose.
To expedite the entry process for these fans, FedExForum has joined forces with CLEAR Health Pass.
Attendees should download the CLEAR app, register for an account and complete a short COVID-19 health screening before arriving at the venue. Once you’re there, show your Health Pass within the app at the time of entry.
Once you’ve done this, it’s time to finish planning your visit.
2. FedEx Forum parking
Although the forum is in downtown Memphis, finding parking near FedExForum Arena is relatively simple. However, that doesn’t mean it’s a necessarily frugal one, though. Parking rates for area garages can vary. On average, you can expect to spend around $30 on parking.
Gossett Motors Garage is a five-level, 1,500-spot attached garage located adjacent to the arena. Guests can reserve a parking spot here via the FedExForum page within the Grizzlies app or by visiting fedexforum.parkmobile.io/. The link also shows any and all other available parking options surrounding the venue.
If you don’t mind a 10-minute walk, you can find several parking options for $5-$10.
Using a rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft is another way to get to and from the arena. The designated drop-off location is on the arena’s eastern side on Fourth Street — between Beale and Dr. M.L. King Jr. Avenue.
3. FedEx bag policy and prohibited items
As an enhanced security precaution, FedExForum Arena permits bags that measure less than 14” x 14” x 6” in size. The sole exception is a guest carrying a bag with medical necessities.
Any bags larger than 4″ x 6″ x 1.5″ are screened using an X-ray machine.
Fans with small bags measuring less than 4″ x 6″x 1.5″ — such as a wallet, wristlet or small clutch — may enter through one of the arena’s designated express lanes. These bags are then subject to a visual inspection by arena security.
For even quicker entry, leave your bags at home.
Upon entering the arena, all guests will be subject to search. A number of items are prohibited, including:
- Camcorders
- Mace or pepper spray
- Strollers
- Weapons (guns, knives, etc.)
- Illegal substances
- Outside food, beverages and alcohol
- Air horns or any other mechanical noisemakers
- Laptop computers
If you happen to arrive with a banned item, you must dispose of it before entering. Checking an item at the gate or having security hold it for you is not allowed.
For a complete list of prohibited items along with a reference guide to frequently asked questions, visit the FedExForum guest relations page.
Keep in mind, the arena upholds a no re-entry policy. So, once you decide to leave, make sure you’re ready to go for good.
4. Mobile tickets only at FedExForum Memphis
To further improve the safety and efficiency of entry, the arena has transitioned exclusively to mobile ticketing for upcoming events. Guests can expect to receive their tickets via text or email at the time of purchase. Once at the arena, attendees will self-scan their tickets using a mobile device.
To do this, download the official Grizzlies mobile app, select the ticket icon, then sign in to your Ticketmaster account. Add your tickets to Google Pay or your Apple Wallet before arriving.
The Grizzlies app also provides arena maps that pinpoint important locations and the arena’s available entry points. And by turning on your Bluetooth, you can stay up to date on any pertinent pre-event information and receive helpful tips once you arrive.
Once outside the arena, unlock your phone, turn your brightness up and keep your tickets readily available for scanning. If you have multiple tickets on your account, scan your guests first before scanning your ticket and entering the turnstile.
The arena encourages guests to arrive early to reduce entry time further and maintain proper social distancing. Luckily, the arena’s WynnBet Sports Bar opens simultaneously as doors during every event. The bar offers a food and drink menu along with more than 30 big-screen TVs.
Tennessee sports bettors can benefit from exclusive in-bar promotions such as odds boosts and bonus bets at the WynnBet app.
5. Is FedExForum cashless? Yes
Keeping with the theme of reduced contact points, FedExForum now operates as an entirely cashless venue. Concession stands offer guests a fully contactless transaction, allowing attendees to tap their card to pay.
Alternatively, services such as Google Pay and Apple Pay provide the ability to pay using a single tap of a card. This tap-to-pay function is also available within the Grizzlies App, where guests can add funds to their mobile wallet.

If you plan on attending a Grizzlies or Tigers event, you might as well make the most of the experience by betting on a TN sportsbook app while you’re there.
With legal sports betting in Tennessee, you can use any one of nine approved sportsbooks to bet on basketball games. But remember — while you can place live bets on the NBA, the state prohibits in-game betting on college basketball. You’ll have to lock in all your Tigers bets before tip-off.
